Working class culture today is in a tail spin to catch up with the velocity of technology and the residual morality of the new school of finance. But one thing that seems to persist is the duality of class-ism attached to materialistic morality. A few times in the last few decades we’ve come close to letting go of the illusion of materialistic value but instead it re-germinates via a culturally structured morality of the consumerist entertainment industry. Are we better off for it? I don’t think so. Class-ist consumerism depends on your shopping dollar.
